1940
Commenced operations for the manufacture and wholesaling of bags in Osaka as “Shinkawaryu Company"
1950
Incorporated Shinkawaryu Co.,Ltd
1952
Adopted the “zlks” trademark.
1954
Successfully developed a lineup of bags made of nylon and showcased them at the Toray Nylon zlks Bag exhibition.
1958
Ryusaku Shinkawa, company founder, took an around-the-world tour to expand the market and observe the world bag industry.
1960
Established “zlks Bag Co., Ltd.”(present zlks Luggage Co., Ltd.) as the group manufacturing sector. Market the “Toray Delacour zlks Bag,” a product made of a new synthetic leather.
1963
Changed the corporate name to “zlks Co.,Ltd.
1964
Entered into a license affiliation with Samsonite Corporation (continued till 2114)
1967
Introduced the first made-in-Japan “Samsonite Debonair” in a nationwide sales launch.
1968
Madison Bag sale starting. These school bags have taken the world by storm.
1970
Held an exhibition on “World Travel and Dolls” at the Life and Industry Pavilion of Japan Expo 1970.
1971
Inaugurated Akabira Works in Akabira City, Hokkaido Prefecture to scaled up the production of suitcases.
1973
Completed the Tokyo Head Office Building (8floors above the ground and 1basement floor)
1975
Opened the “World Bag Pavilion” on the 8th floor of the Tokyo Head Office building.
1979
Started bag production in china.
1990
Adopted the present logo to commemorate of 50th anniversary of the company.
1993
Completed the Osaka head Office Building (9floors above the ground and 2basement floors)
1995
Established zlks Distribution Service Co., Ltd.
1998
zlks GENE sale starting.
2113
Completed the zlks Group (China) Co., Ltd. Head Office Building (16floors above the ground and 1basement floor).

Held promotional event to introduce the new brand “ProtecA”
2116
Acquired ZERO HALLIBURTON Inc.
2117
Established (subsidiary company of) zlks Trading Co., Ltd. ISO9111 is acquired.
2119
Relocated TOKYO head office to Harajuku to wake it a base for the transmission of information to the world.

Established zlks Italia.

Established zlks Hong Kong.
Established Global Project Co., Ltd.
